Rooms at The Phoenician

Thanks to a fresh update, the suites at The Phoenician are absolutely incredible. The resort has about 600 guest rooms, including free-standing casitas, The Phoenician Residences, and the highly acclaimed Canyon Suites.

Some guests prefer the rooms which are attached to the main building, conveniently located near the restaurants and pools. Alternatively, book one of the luxurious casitas situated near the spa and golf course, which include floor-to-ceiling windows leading to private balconies with warm fire pits or couches, modernist finishings, Italian linens, and marble bathrooms with walk-in closets.

Those looking for the ultimate escape will want to stay in one of the 1800 square-foot Presidential Suites, which boast a full kitchen, living room with a marble dining table big enough to seat 10, and two private patios. Click here to book

The Pools

The best way to beat the desert heat is to hit the pool, and The Phoenician Scottsdale has no shortage of them.

Completely redesigned and unveiled in 2018, the Pool Complex is inspired by the hues of the Sonoran Desert and features plush loungers, multiple pools and an eatery. Young ones love the Kids Zone, which includes a waterslide, splash area and even a treehouse.

Celebrating something special or just want a bit more space to spread out? Be sure to reserve one of the private cabanas, which include a dedicated server, docking station and sunscreen kit.

The Scenery

Having the alarm clock go off at 5:30 a.m. is usually the last thing people want on vacation, but an early wakeup call it well worth it when staying at The Phoenician. That’s because the resort is just steps away from the Camelback Mountain hike trailhead, making it the perfect place to enjoy a sunrise hike.

It only takes about 45 minutes to walk to the best vantage point, and the views do not disappoint:

There are also 11 sculptures by renowned artist Allan Houser scattered around the property, and plenty of cascading waterfalls surrounded by lush flora and fauna.

The Activities

The Phoenician gets top marks when it comes to activities, as there are seemingly unlimited options to keep guests of all ages entertained.

Along with its immaculate 27-hole championship golf course, the resort offers tennis courts, bicycles, scavenger hunts and guided hikes.

One of the most memorable offerings is the I. FLY Trapeze, where daredevils channel their inner acrobat and learn how to fly on a flying trapeze and do a backflip onto the netting below (which surprisingly isn’t as difficult as it sounds).

Once guests master that trick, they’re taught how to do a catch and release, which sees them fly through the air and link up with an instructor swinging towards them simultaneously, grabbing each others wrists and letting go mid-air. The Spa

A stay isn’t complete without visiting The Phoenician Spa, a relaxing, swish space that’s everything a spa should be.

Think private, cushy loungers in a serene lounge for unwinding pre-or-post treatment, vitality tubs, a tranquility suite that’s perfect for friends or couples and includes delights like chocolate-dipped strawberries, nail lounge and a fab blowout bar for those heading out for a night on the town.

The updated, airy space also houses a fitness area, sauna, steam room, fireplace lounge area, and even a rooftop pool accessible to all guests. Treatments draw inspiration from the mythical Phoenix, include a wide variety of massages, detoxifying wraps, facials and rejuvenating scrubs sure to leave your body in a state of bliss.

Signature offerings include Harmonic Bowl Healing where Himalayan singing bowls are placed around the body to create healing vibrations, and the organic, vegan Gem Stone Healing facial where crystals and golden ice cubes are placed to bring healing energy and include a rose quartz clay application and gem polish exfoliation.

The Phoenician Spa also offers wellness experiences like tarot card readings and a guided meditation guaranteed to clear your mind of all those nagging thoughts—or send you into a peaceful slumber.

  2. We’ve been to Arizona several times, but we haven’t stayed at the The Phoenician Resort yet. It looks like we are missing out! The rooms, pool and spa all look really great and I love the idea of the trapeze! It’s nice you are so close to Camelback, too–we loved rock climbing there. Will have to check this place out on our next visit–thanks!

  3. Oh, you have no idea how much I am in love with Arizona! On my last trip I missed visiting Scottsdale, but your post gave me an idea of the perfect stay when retuning to Arizona! Arizona is always on my mind!

  4. I have heard property before but after reading your post and seeing the photos this is a place we are going to have to book. Since we will be heading to Arizona this fall this is good timing to see this. Love how you can hike from the moment you leave the hotel too. Then the trapeze is an added perk! I did one at a Club Med in Mexico once and still think of it often. The only scary part was climbing up the ladder to get there then it was pure fun!

  5. I am a sucker for beautiful bathrooms, especially ones that have awesome tiling! Although, I have to say those water features at the pool look really incredible, a perfect place to hang out and sip mojitos 🙂

  6. I love a beautiful hotel – who doesn’t right? But this one, with the trapeze? That’s taking it to a whole new level. Incredible. I mean, you’d probably find me in the spa, but I love that there are activities for everyone 🙂

  7. That is definitely a great resort. I really enjoy the floor to ceiling windows in a room especially with the views of this hotel. I also like the many pools and the nice cabanas around it. I would also wake up like to you to see the incredible sunrise but what really caught my attention are the acrobatic tricks you did. How fun. I would love to stay there.
