Mambo Beach is one of the best beaches in Curaçao, thanks to its soft white sand and aquarium-like clear water set against a backdrop of the shimmering Caribbean Sea.
Located just a few miles from downtown Willemstad along Mambo Beach Boulevard, Mambo Beach is one of the country’s most lively stretches of sand, packed end-to-end with palapas, sun beds and white-curtained cabanas.
Amenities at Mambo Beach in Curacao
Unlike some of the other best beaches on Curacao which have few to no amenities, Mambo Beach has it all from great dining to boutiques in the adjoining open-air shopping centre.
Public washrooms are available, and there’s ample parking at the entrance.
What to do at Mambo Beach Curacao
If it’s shopping you’re after, there are more than a dozen stores at Mambo Beach including souvenir shops, swimwear boutiques and home decor. There are also few tour operators who can help organize fun day trips around Curacao, as well as bars, restaurants and cafes.
A few of the bars are right on the beach and perfect for happy hour, including spots like
Chill Beach Bar & Grill which is decorated with quirky signs and has plenty of hammocks to curl up in.
Once you hit the beach, the first stop is to secure a lounge chair. Hundreds of them line this stretch of sparkling sand, along with two-person cabanas under swaying palm trees. It only costs about $4 to rent a lounger for the day, and around $25 for a cabana.
The clear, calm water is perfect for swimming, and framed by a rock jetty to keep the area protected. Up your Instagram game by posing on the beach swings, and be sure to get a shot under the Mambo Beach sign.
Mambo Beach clubs
For an elevated experience, relax at one of the beach clubs on Mambo Beach.
Madero Ocean Club is a stunner, with luxe beach beds and cabanas surrounding a pretty pool which is open from 10 AM to 6 PM. There’s a bar and restaurant serving creative cocktails, and an events area where top DJs are brought in for a few nights each week to get the party started.
Bonita Beach Club is another top pick thanks to its happy hour specials, and has more than 200 sun beds including lots of shaded spots for escaping the heat. The Wet and Wild Beach Club next door keeps the fun going long after the sun goes down on Fridays and Sundays, making this one of the best party spots on Mambo Beach in Curacao.
